Everything you need to know about GovCon SkyNet. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us.
GovCon SkyNet is an AI-powered platform that helps small businesses find, analyze, and respond to government contracting opportunities. It searches SAM.gov, scores opportunities against your company profile, generates proposal-ready content, and tracks your proposals through submission — all in one tool.
No. GovCon SkyNet is designed for both experienced GovCon professionals and businesses new to federal contracting. The platform walks you through setting up your company profile, explains match scores, and generates structured proposal content that follows standard government formatting. If you have a SAM.gov registration and a capable business, you can get started.
You do not need a SAM.gov account to search for and analyze opportunities on GovCon SkyNet. We pull data from the public SAM.gov Opportunities API. However, to actually submit proposals and win government contracts, your business must be registered in SAM.gov. We recommend completing your SAM.gov registration if you have not already.
After signing up, the platform will prompt you to create your company profile. You can enter your information manually — including NAICS codes, certifications, set-aside eligibility, services, and past performance — or auto-import your profile from your company website URL. The more complete your profile, the more accurate your match scores and generated proposals will be.
Every opportunity in GovCon SkyNet comes directly from the SAM.gov Opportunities API, the official federal procurement data source maintained by the U.S. General Services Administration. This is the same data available on SAM.gov, accessed through their public API in real time.
When you search for opportunities, GovCon SkyNet evaluates each result against your company profile using eight signals: NAICS code alignment, set-aside eligibility, geographic relevance, contract size fit, service area match, certification requirements, agency familiarity, and past performance relevance. Each opportunity receives a composite score so you can quickly see which ones are worth pursuing.
Opportunities are fetched from SAM.gov in real time when you search. Search results are cached for four hours to improve performance on repeat queries. For the most up-to-date information on any specific opportunity, you can click through to the full listing on SAM.gov directly from the search results.
The proposal tracker lets you save opportunities you are interested in and track them through the proposal process. Deadline alerts notify you when proposals are due within seven days. Saved search alerts with email notifications are on our roadmap for a future release.
GovCon SkyNet uses Claude by Anthropic, a leading AI model known for its strong performance with complex, structured content. Proposal generation (executive summaries, capability statements, letters, etc.) is powered by Claude Sonnet. Compliance scoring and matrix generation use Claude Haiku for fast, accurate analysis. Your data is processed through Anthropic's commercial API and is never used to train their models.
GovCon SkyNet generates six types of proposal content: executive summaries, capability statements, past performance narratives, transmittal letters, teaming outreach letters, and contracting officer questions. It also generates compliance matrices that map solicitation requirements to your capabilities. Each output is tailored to the specific opportunity and your company profile.
Absolutely. Every piece of generated content is fully editable. You can make direct edits in the built-in editor, or use the AI rewrite feature to give natural-language instructions like "make it more technical" or "emphasize our past DoD work." The AI rewrites the section while preserving context. Generated content is always a starting point — you should review and refine everything before submission.
Yes. You can export any generated content as a Word document or PDF, ready for submission or team review.
The AI produces high-quality first drafts that follow standard government proposal formatting and incorporate your company profile details. However, AI-generated content should always be reviewed by a human before submission. The AI may occasionally make assumptions, miss nuances in the solicitation, or produce content that needs domain-specific refinement. Think of it as a skilled first draft that needs your expert review.
